OK, I know the animation is a little clunky at times on these "motion-comic" things, but at least they're picking good source material...

Have to say I don't care for motion comics, I liked Astonishing though; but the comic was better.

I thought Astonishing made more effort than most motion-comics I've seen to look like a legit cartoon.

That may be true, but it still like a 1960s cartoon. The comic was better but the motion comic wasn't bad.

The thing about motion comics that doesn't work for me - at least from the ones I've seen, and I haven't watched these yet - is that I like reading comics at my own pace, and when I'm stuck going at the cartoon's pace it gets difficult for me to pay attention.

I did not particularly enjoy the Superman: Red Son motion comic I watched, and it isn't because it lacked good voice acting or solid production values. It's because I read fast, and it can be excruciating for me to wait for the next panel or transition. An actual cartoon is different because of the way it flows and tells its story. A motion comic is basically someone reading a comic to me panel by panel and I can't handle that. It's the same reason I find games that don't let me change text speed all but unplayable.

In short, I am a bundle of very specific neuroses.

I think you're both overlooking the fact that I was just polishing off a bottle of wine when I discovered these, and was therefore quite content to let someone read me a comic book.

Well, sure, that makes sense. That's really the ideal way to do most things.
