Well, it's 4am and I'm still kinda wound up from something; so here is just something I wanted to address. I may be looking for a fifth player in my D&D game and if I can't find anyone I wouldn't mind someone from the community. I'm DMing a game at the moment and just wanted to know if anyone was actually interested at all. And because I have the time at the moment I'll explain a few things.

1. Setting for the game is Eberron. It's D&D meets steampunk. It has mad scientists, robots, rail roads, some form of dinosaurs(very little but they are there) and dwarf bankers. It's a lot of fun and currently I think it's better than regular setting and Forgotten Realms.

2. The players are immature and there are some things that just don't fit, like Celine Dion records or Mr. Richard (read 'Dick') Puncher as the dwarf fighter. If you are looking for complete immersion that's not this game.

3. We play online. This is a problem 2 fold:1) you need skype & 2)you need Maptools. Maptools is probably more difficult barrier to entry than skype. For more information on this if you are interested or if you are thinking about your own game go to there site. We use version 1.3.b63 & your Java has to be up to date

4. They are about lvl 5 at the moment so it'll be a bit tricky to get started if you never played but I'll be willing to talk and help outside of the game. Also if you want to just talk about something related to this I would be happy to help. It's not so hard if you use the character builder.

5. There is some cost put on you, be either time or money. I recommend that if you play you should have read the Player's handbook at least and if you really want an insight into the setting pick up that player's guide as well. I buy my books, however all of my friends "found" their books in digital format. We also use the character builder, it's a program from Wizards that's a trial up to lvl 3, and after that you need to pay a subscription of $10 a month (or less for multiple months). So this will be at least an investment of $10 a month. The day is Monday and we are currently reworking the time but it should be evening sometime.

I'm not sure if this makes any sense at the moment (I get really bad at remembering things when it gets this late) but it's helping me wind down and put the question out there. If you have any questions just post here and I'll answer. If not cool. If you're interested in playing post and I'll get back to you, if not but you have questions post. And if you want to get a hold of me on skype or steam, look up user name: exwingzero.

This took 38 minutes to write...I need to log.

I had meant to respond to your post previously. I would love to be part of an RPG group again. Right now, evidently, the basic mic I bought for recording audio stories isn't capable of doing Skype. The real barrier for me is the group's meeting time. I am currently working from 0400 to 1200 PST. This means that I go to bed by 9/10 Mountain/Central.
I hope you find someone to join your group, because I sympathize with your plight of the immature members.

Thanks JR, well things might be changing come September when I start school. It might be moved to a weekend or something. Thanks for responding and if it changes I'll let you know. Cool

Awesome! I'll keep my eyes peeled, and I will make sure I own a proper Skype-compatible headset mic before then. Smile
